Create a Job

At this point you will take a pause on Cura and go to the Posterform Production Center website.

Open the PosterForm Production Center website: posterformdlm.unr.edu
Sign-in with your NetID and password.

This will take you to the main page of the website. It will automatically drop you to the poster printing page, which is where the Library Service student workers complete jobs for the posters. You will be using the site for 3D printing, vinyl, embroidery and vacuum forming sheets.

On the top panel select the 3D printing tab.

Type the name of the patron. In this case, type your own name.
Type the email of the patron. In this case, type your unr.edu email address.
Select the customer type from the drop-down menu. In this case select student.
Select the department. In this case, select Libraries.
Select the purpose. In this case, select University-related. The patron will tell you what it is form. Sometimes this will be a personal project, and you would select personal. If this is for a research project or class assignment this would be Academic. If this is a specialty project for a UNR department, put University-related. Since this is for your training, it makes sense to put it under University-related.
Select Add Line. This will populate another box with information specific to the 3D print job.
Select the printer. In this case, select Taz Pro.
Type the amount of rigid material the 3D print used in grams. If you used a flexible material (which is pretty rare) you can put the amount of material in grams in that slot.
Type the number of copies, this is how many objects they will need printed. Sometimes a job will have 5 objects on the job, so you would type 5. In our case, you will type 1.
Type the percentage of the density of the infill of the object. In our case, you will type 20%.
Type the colors that will be used. In our case, type the color that was chosen.
Select the OBJ or STL file that was provided by the patron. In our case, select the file that we are using for this training.
Type any notes that you have about the job that others will need to know. In our case, you will type that this is for the training.
Select confirm. This will show a page with the order details. make sure it all looks good!

If you do not see the confirm button, it is because you did not fill out all of the sections. You must fill in all sections and add a file in order for confirm to show up.

Select submit at the bottom of the page.

Creating the Receipt and Payment

You will now be taken to a new page with the receipt populated for you. You will see the order number, the patron name and the email at the very top. It also states all of the pertinent information that you filled out in the previous page.

There is also an additional notes section at the bottom. This will be useful to add any other notes about this job. As we go through the printing process, we will want to add notes to this page so other wranglers know where we are in the process. For example, if this job is printing wrong or failing, we will make a note on why and how it is failing so the next wrangler can troubleshoot the issue.

Select print receipt at the bottom of the page.
Print 3 copies.
The patron will need to go downstairs to pay for the prints. Patrons can pay with credit card or WolfCard.
1. We need a payment before we can start any jobs. There a couple of exceptions, but they need approval from the makerspace manager. One exception would be an academic research project that needs to be paid through the backend of the system and not with a credit card. The manager will help the patron with that.
They will come back upstairs once the payment has processed and hand your one of the receipts with the PAID stamp. This will be used to track the job. The patron will keep the 2nd receipt. The Library Service student will keep the 3rd receipt.

For this training, you will not be paying for these prints. This is an internal order that the manager will take care of. You do not need to go down and get a PAID stamp, just leave the 3 receipts in your training folder.

Transferring the File

While the customer is paying, plug in the Pro flash drive. This is the designated flash drive for the Pro.
Go back into the Cura software, and on the bottom of the program, there will be the file name. Select the green pencil and change the name with the color chosen for the print and the job number found on posterform; 'Order# last name_part name'. For example: 334Glasgow_dragon.stl
On the bottom right of the processing panel, select the down arrow. Select save to removable drive. This will save the G-code of the object.
